Advanced Surgical Care Course

The Medical Development Center at Al Salam Al Assima Hospital in collaboration with the Manipal University of India organized an Advanced Surgical Care Course for the hospital’s nurses working in the Medical Surgical Units from 4th to 9th November 2023. The objective of the course was to enhance the skill of nurses in assessing deep wounds, skin tears, ostomies, severe burns, pressure injuries or bedsores, and diabetic foot wounds to deliver high quality nursing services. The course was conducted by Dr. Jyothi Chakravarti, Professor and HOD, Medical Surgical Nursing with more than 20 years of experience in the field of clinical teaching and Mr. Anil Raj, Assistant Professor from Manipal University. Various workshops and OSCE were conducted in real-time scenarios allowing the nurses to be highly competent in rendering patient care and maintaining a degree of excellence. The attendees received a course completion certificate from Manipal University. It was a remarkable experience for our staff in the continuous professional development in shaping their medical career in the field of nursing.
