Neonatology
The Special Care Baby Unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and the development of Neonatology utilize the technology and professional knowledge to keep a premature infant alive. Neonatology is a sub-specialty of Pediatrics dedicated to giving these tiny, and sometimes very sick babies the very best chance of survival, utilizing the most up-to-date technology and clinical techniques. Al Salam International Hospital has a 21st Century Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with medical specialists, paramedical and specially trained NICU nursing staff – a truly dedicated team, working together under the guidance of the Neonatologist, to advance the treatment of these small and premature infants.
