Anesthesia
Introduction:
Anesthesia is temporary loss of sensation or awareness that is induced for medical purposes.
What we offer:
There are four main categories of anesthesia used during surgery and other diagnostic procedures:
• General anesthesia,
• Regional anesthesia (spinal/epidural)
• Local anesthesia
• Conscious sedation (MAC “Monitored Anesthesia Care”)
Conscious sedation is used to facilitate the Gastroenterologist and other physicians to undertake endoscopies and other diagnostic procedures without subjecting the patients to a general anesthesia.
In the anesthesia clinic, patients are examined by professional, experienced anesthetists to decide for each patient individually which is the suitable type of anesthesia and pain management during the perioperative period.
